E-Commerce Sales Increase 5% in Q3 2019

 The following figures were obtained from the Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce:

  • Estimated US retail e-commerce sales for Q3 of 2019 were $154.5 billion (adjusted for seasonal variation, not for price changes). This figure was 5% higher than the sales figure for Q2 of 2019.
  • Total retail sales for Q3 2019 were an estimated $1,380.5 billion. They had increased slightly (1.4%) from Q2 2019.
  • Estimated Q3 2019 e-commerce jumped by 16.9% from the same period in 2018. Total retail sales increased by 4% during the same period.
  • E-commerce sales in Q3 of 2019 made up 11.2% of total sales.
